Gas and Lights Safety Stand-Down, Aug. 15, 2018

Natural Gas and Street Lights held its 6th annual Safety Stand-Down Day on Aug. 15 at the Cardwell Road training facility. After breakfast, Deputy Director Al Scott spoke on safety management, followed by talks on excavation safety, health, fire safety, and Miss Utility. After lunch, there were team building competitions. The winning teams were

First place, RED, with Vaughan Ball, Alvin Berry, Lavon Carter, Darfer Hasheem, Wilgena McFall, Fred Sigmund, Kaila Valdez, and Pat Williams

Second place, ORANGE, with Otis Lambert, Al Scott, Muhammad Smith, Melinda Stovall, Mike Thomas, and Tyrone Tompkins

Third place, BLUE, with Edie Golden, David Hence, Sebastian Pryor, Jeff Tedder, Charles White, Brian Wilkins, and Avery Wills

Vendors, including Red Wing Shoes, Grainger, Miss Utility, Ed Young Sales, Honeywell-Elster Perfection, Central Plastics, Pro-Chem, Share Corp, SEMAC, and United Rentals sponsored the event.
