DPU Dress Code

These women know how to dress for success. Dress for the promotion you want.

This dress sandal covers most of the foot and has a back strap and reasonable heel. You could quickly evacuate the building in this style shoe.
Clothing cannot expose any area of the abdomen, chest or buttocks.
T-shirts and pants cannot have slogans on them.
Jewelry and tattoos cannot be offensive based on race, sex, religion, politics, or anything that would provoke a customer.
Shoes must be worn at all times.
Sexually provocative clothing is prohibited.

Acceptable business attire is suits, sports coats, blouses, dress shirts or sweaters, dress pants, dresses or skirts no shorter than directly above the knee, dress shoes or dress sandals (dress sandals do not expose more foot than shoe), socks or hose.

This casual dress is too short for the office.
Spaghetti straps are inappropriate for the office unless you keep a sweater , shrug or jacket over the top at all times.
Not allowed at all times, including designated casual days, are torn, faded, or patched jeans, hip huggers, bib overalls, spandex or form-fitting pants, shorts, sweat pants, athletic attire, beachwear, muu-muus, casual sun dresses, short skirts, sweat shirts, T-shirts, sleeveless shirts, tank tops, halter tops, any top with spaghetti straps, athletic shoes, work boots that are not safety-gear style, casual sandals that expose more than 30 percent of the top of the foot, flip flops, hiking boots, hiking sandals, thongs shoes that have a part that fits between the toes, slippers (backless casual shoes.)

All these shoes are inappropriate. They expose too much foot, are thong style, and backless. You cannot evacuate quickly down five flights of stairs. Customers do not want to see your foot.

Beachwear, not office appropriate.
Capri pants are considered beachwear and do not qualify as dress pants.
Capris are considered beachwear. They are not dress pants.

Just say no.
Employees who do not meet dress code standards will be counseled by their direct supervisor. If the appearance is excessively distracting or unsafe, the employee may be sent home to correct the problem and the time charged to the employee’s annual leave. Repeated disregard for this dress policy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Any shoe style that would prevent you from evacuating the building quickly, without losing your shoes or tripping, or slowing down people evacuating behind you – specifically flip-flops, backless slipper style shoes, and provocative high heels – are a violation of the dress code and can endanger your life and the lives of your coworkers in the event of an emergency evacuation.

Save these shoes for dinner out, not for the office.

We know the customer can't see you, but we see you. No no no.
