Florence Cannon Reaches 40th

Florence Cannon celebrated her 40th year of employment with the city on Feb. 8. She began as a clerk typist in 1972 at the Richmond Nursing Home on Hospital Street, then worked in the Finance Department on the first floor of City Hall before returning to the Richmond Nursing Home as part of a promotion, when the home changed to Seven Hills Health Care Center and moved to Cool Lane. She remained there until 1993 when she transferred to Public Utilities to work at the OPS center warehouse. "I have worked with many nice, loving, kind and caring people and gained many friends," she says.
